Ring In 2011 With an Unforgettable Event!

New Years Eve events could possibly be the most fun parties to throw! It has it all, anticipation, excitement, vibrant colors, noisemakers and so many options when it comes to decor! All of these ideas can apply to all kinds of NYE events, ranging from social, corporate to a fabulous NYE wedding.  Let’s start with some must haves! It’s standard, you have to have the essentials, noisemakers, hats, and fabulous feathered headbands for the ladies!  Keep these classy by choosing black and silver colors for these items, like the ones on the left.  Moving on, I’m in love with these disco balls on the right! They are just amazing! This picture shows a candy bar using them, but I would venture to use them as centerpieces! Mix it up, fill different kinds of vases with small disco balls mixed with clocks that indicate midnight on them, topped with a large disco ball or large old fashioned clock (alternate on tables), one word, AMAZING! A balloon drop is another MUST! Mix up the colors of the balloons to compliment your theme! If you want to get super fancy, get clear balloons and place noisemakers inside! It will be a fun activity for your guests (make sure to take into account the size of your venue and how many attendees you have before planning this idea).  There are tons of great websites that offer DIY ways to assemble these for house parties etc.  I found this link on ehow.com balloon drop. Just make sure when the clock strikes midnight that there is someone designated (and not over beveraged!) to pull the string to release the balloons! Illuminated tables in all shapes and sizes are available to rent all year round, like the one on the right.  Some even change colors throughout the night.  These are fabulous to use as a bar or even as your round tables for your event. Great for New Years!

I feel like New Years Eve parties are one of the best vessels for Casino themes! It gives your guests something to do while waiting for the clock to strike 12.  If you’re on a budget have your guests arrive around 8pm, them offer them appetizers and cocktails while casino night is underway (this is to avoid having to cater the event with a dinner).  For California residents check out Casinopartycompanies.com.  There are also many ways to avoid having a “bank roll”, give your guests chips and whoever wins the poker tournament (or any game of your choice) wins a prize of some sort.  Partner your casino night with feathers! Tall vases filled with white amazing feathers! I just love them, they ooze such a classy vibe! Major Events has used their ideas of feathers in a fashion show setting, and  look how amazing they compliment the illuminated runway! Instead, opt for illuminating small block tables, and rent small ottomans for guests to sit around and sip cocktails.

Picture a gorgeous white tent with tons of black and silver chandeliers hanging down outlining the balloon drop which is hanging over your dance floor! Against that type of backdrop these chandeliers will look so elegant and sophisticated.  I am slightly obsessed, I feel like there should be at least one chandelier in every event!  Chandeliers are a major trend right now, you are able to rent those as well.  You can even decorate each chandelier, have “2011” hanging from the chandeliers.  It sounds a little cheap, but there is a classy way to do everything!

      Hello Sabrina! There are many rental companies that offer these types of chandeliers, where are you located I may have a couple referrals for you. Also, it doesn’t hurt to save a picture on your desktop of what you are looking for and then email it out to all the rental companies in your area, a lot of the time if a rental company doesn’t have it they will tell you who they think might have it.
