Adios Winter Hello Spring!

It’s a new year and what better way to kick it off then to get started on planning your upcoming spring and summer events! Congratulations to all of you who are planning your dream wedding and to those who are celebrating something special this year! My new years resolution to make sure the content on this blog helps all of you find something you fall in love with and can incorporate into your special day 🙂

For spring and summer events I just wanted to share a few great lighting ideas for ambience and decor! All of these ideas translate to any kind of event that you are coordinating, use them in weddings, corporate events, dinner parties, anniversaries, kids parties and the list goes on!

Garden theme and outdoor weddings I’m talking to you! Candles are calming they are beautiful and fabulous at any event.  The inspiration board above of candles shows how you can change the entire look of your event just by hanging some tea lights from centerpieces or trees (I suggest using flameless candles!), to create such an ambiance filled with love, style and grace.  Your style has to be incorporated when choosing your perfect tea light, choose one that you love, or mix and match them for a great shabby chic kind of look (very popular right now).  There are modern ones, old rustic ones, elegant ones etc.  Choose the perfect one for you! Even what you string them with adds another amazing touch to your event, for example if you are going for an outdoor secret garden theme add a hint of elegance to the string by adding crystals to it.

Outdoor string lights, like the ones you see on the left, are simple yet amazing.  They are sophisticated, elegant and classy! They work in so many settings as well.  You can add them outdoors and string them from tree to tree creating an illusion of a tent, or even use them inside of a tent or barn.  These save you money as well! you don’t have to rent a tent if you have this kind of lighting at your event!

Lanterns! Such a great trend right now! Use them outdoors or indoors, they are inexpensive yet completely fabulous! The lanterns on the right show you how great they can make your event look.  Hang a few large ones over your dance floor to get your guests dancing! The lanterns are so versatile, they can make the room look elegant or if you prefer more of  a fun atmosphere they can do that too! Lanterns are also great, because they come in such a variety of colors, patterns, shapes and sizes which gives you so many great options!

Get creative with your lighting! Like in the picture above, this was a plain white room before these lighting experts came in from acep.com.  They used fabulous uplights and gobos to decorate the walls, turning this into an unforgettable event.

You can also get creative with umbrellas, like the one on the right.  Light them up! It makes for such a magical touch! You can also hang candles or crystals from the inside of the umbrella to decorate them even more!  Keep in mind when using umbrellas, centerpieces are not necessary.  The umbrellas act as your centerpiece in such a way, but feel free to add special touches on the table to still add decoration!

Go modern! Get funky with lighting, like these amazing solar powered bubble lights on the left.  They come in all different colors, and if used in the right way can really be a great touch to an event! If you’re like me I like having things that no one else has, that prompt the wow factor, I find these bubble lights to be right up that alley!

Lighting is so important in any event! It really sets the mood and tone as well as adds elegance, sophistication, fun etc.  What you do with lighting can turn your event from great to unforgettable!

Coming up next! Let’s get the spring wedding season started!! Pink and Green wedding colors, candy bars and great ideas!
